Aragatsotn marz of RA is situated in the territory lying between the capital Yerevan and the highest peak of RA, Aragats. The territory of marz intersects RA principal railway as well (only across the end of the West, so it hasn’t any influence on economic development of the marz). The famous Observatory of Byurakan, the Institutes of Radiophysics and Electronics, Physical Researches of RA National Academy of Sciences are located in the marz. industry 1.8 %,
agriculture 7.6 %,
construction 0.8 %,
retail trade 0.6 %,
services 0.4 %.
The main economy branches of the marz are industry and agriculture. Industry is specialized in manufacture of food products and beverage, precious articles and exploiting of mines of building materials. The geographical position and climatic conditions of the marz are favourable for development of
both plant growing (grain, potatoes, perennial grass, and forage crops) and cattle breeding. Agriculture is mainly specialized in plant growing and cattle breeding. Freight and passenger transportations in the marz are implemented by road transport.
